Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme Details
The Aasara pension scheme was started in 18 November 2014 by Chief Minister of Telangana, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao in Kothur in Mahboobnagar district. The government is spending Rs 5,500 crore every year on the scheme.
Aasara pension is a pension scheme by Government of Telangana. It is a welfare scheme of giving pensions to below poverty line citizens.
The new Pension scheme called Aasara increasing the monthly pension from Rs.200 to Rs.1000 for old age persons, widows, weavers, toddy tappers and AIDS patients. The government also extended the financial assistance to Rs. 1000 per month to the poor Beedi worker under Aasara Scheme from the month of March 2015 onwards.

Telangana Aasara Pension scheme Eligibility
Eligibility criteria common to all Pensions
i. The proposed beneficiary shall be from BPL family.
ii. He/she shall be a local resident of the district.
iii. He/she are not covered under any other Pension Scheme.
Old Age Pension
Old age persons, both male and female, who are 65 years of age or above and are destitute (with little or no means of subsistence and no family or relative to depend upon).
Weaver is 50 years of age or above and destitute.
Widows irrespective of age limit.
Disabled persons having a minimum of 40% disability and are above 18 years of age.
